The Rural Geography
Research Group facilitates and promotes research on rural land use, the environment
and related socio-economic issues, with particular reference to the countryside
of the UK. These aims are achieved by:
- holding
regular national and international conferences, meetings and seminars of discussion
and evaluation (see Calendar page for latest conference details)
- maintaining contacts with rural geography research groups in other
countries, including joint conferences and meetings publishing research results presented at conferences
- supporting PhD research into rural topics through specific training
events as well as research-based meetings
- establishing links with other research and policy groups that have
interests which coincide with those of the RGRG members
